I have long prided myself on being going with Google apps and integrating technology, but the tools themselves are constantly changing, and I think it’s really important to keep up.
As Google says, “You’ve spent the time growing your skills, now get certified to be recognized for the work you’ve done.” The Google Certified Educator Program does just this. With a series of lessons designed to go from simple to more complex, the Google program is fabulous for all teachers.
When I was still in the classroom, I completed my level 1 certification, and used the skills that I learned all the time, whether it was creating digital interactive notebooks for my students, or encouraging students to collaborate on lab reports using Google Docs. Google tools really are made for collaboration and 21st century learning.
Level 2 certification is more geared towards classroom practice, and you really need to understand the nuances of the tools. There are so many things that can be done that the average user really doesn’t know. Just going through the activities got me excited about the workshops I have planned!
Now that I’m working with teachers directly, I want them to see the benefit of getting certified. Working with the Google tools really does revolutionize the role of the teacher in the classroom. I offer one on one and small group workshops, as well as larger group sessions for professional development. Contact me and let’s discuss how I can help you and your school!
